I won't buy you flowers
And I won't buy you shiny jewellery
And I won't take you to expensive meals
I'd rather pick them for you myself
I rather make you my poor attempts at necklaces
And I'd rather cook you food from our own home
And it isn't because I'm cheap, but because our love does not need a quota
We do not need to spend a fortune for us to appreciate what we have
We can stay home and watch the television as we burn out pizzas because frankly,
We're both bad cooks.
But we'll make memories
And we'll save for our dream home and our children
So no I will not buy you flowers
Or work overtime so I can give you a glorified rock
But maybe a cooking class might be fun
Let's make some memories.
