“You shouldn’t spend too much time on these. S’ not good for you...” Tim muttered next to Jason’s ear, tightening his arms around him slightly. Deliberating for a moment Jason sighed “... you’re right. What’re your plans for dinner?” Jason inquired, turning so he could properly embrace Tim.
“Hrmph...” Tim slurred into Jason’s shoulder. “Yer adorable, y’know that?” Jason chuckled softly. “How about leftovers?” “Had a big lunch. We have apple crisp leftover.” Tim offered, smiling lazily as they both stood and began sluggishly making their way to the kitchen.
“Ah yes, diabetes pie.” Jason snorted, lacing his fingers with Tim’s and bringing the large blanket around both of them as they walked. “But we made it vegan, so it’s okay.” Tim giggled, opening the fridge and pulling out the large glass dish.
Jason broke away from their small huddle to get out bowls and silverware, grabbing extra spoons when he heard Tim rooting around in the freezer for ice cream. “We are responsible, healthy, functioning, adults, right?” Jason joked as he set everything up on the table.
“Course’ we are. I’m nineteen, you’re twenty one, we both have stable jobs and see therapists. We’re fine” Tim confirmed, dishing out the Apple crisp into each bowl. Gently placing the first one in the microwave, he turned back to Jason with a small smile, standing up on his toes and pressing a small kiss to his jawline.
They stood there for a while, wrapped up in each other’s arms, long past when the microwave beeped. Tim was happy. Jason was happy. Somewhere outside as small shooting star streamed across the sky. This is what love is.
