and stared at him with obvious curiosity. George started whistling, “Stars and Stripes Forever.” To his delight the Baby went wild with joy! He started making cute, little, squeaky Dolphin sounds and was breaching and tail-walking like a trained Dolphin.
I don’t know if George was aware of it, or not, but Dolphins have individual whistle-speak names that their Mother repeats over and over to their Babies. The Babies practice imitating their Mommies until they have it right and from then on use their whistle-sounds as call kind of name. So by
whistling, “Stars and Stripes Forever” to this Baby Dolphin, George was either deliberately or accidentally (if he was unaware of this fact), from the Dolphin’s point of view, telling his name!
So somewhere in the open Sea, (hopefully, for this wasn’t all that long ago, so that Dolphin should still be very much alive and now in the prime of his adult life,) swims a Dolphin who knows that Humans have names just as they do.
NUKE THE WHALES Nuke the Whales! Nuke the Whales! Put Plutonium on their slimy, little tails! Leave them flopping on the beaches When we boil the Ocean dry! Leave them stranded in the shallows And listen to them fry!
