What Lies In My Mind

My heart is as full for you as the moon is tonight

It shines through the darkness of the vast, never ending space of thoughts in my head of you

And for a moment time stands still, only the frigid breeze of the winter air to comfort what lies in my mind.

Memories of you like cemeteries and my love for you lies in a casket, I try to keep it buried deep enough under ground so you can’t see the rotting corpse I have become.

A shell of who I once was, my soul far away in space.

As meteors penetrate, burning as they fall into the atmosphere.

Every memory of you burns as the thoughts intrude my mind.

Do you think someday the stars really will align for us?

Even if just for a few more moments.
