A poem about depression and isolation.

A World So Lonely

A world so lonely Some become shells Of their former selves

Afraid to share Their simplest thoughts For fear of rejection

Inside, a whirlwind Of words and emotion Insecurity mounting

A war of the mind Chaotic and loud But invisibly so

No words Are spoken Not a flicker of the eye

No signs Of a light being on Nobody home

The secret fight With one's own mind Unable to express

A ghost, they appear To be empty and hollow Nothing.
