If I Was A Bird

by nerdletech

If I was a bird

I would spread my wings

Feeling the wind in my feathers

And the sun on my beak

If I was a bird

I could fly through the clouds

Up up up

Far away

From my worries

From my responsibilities

Far away from everything that I am running from

If I was a bird

I wouldn't have this extra weight

Crushing my shoulders

Breaking my back

It would be me and the sky

And all the other birds

Soaring through the air

Feeling the climate changes of each continent

If I was a bird

I could travel across the ocean

Dipping my talons in the water

Playing hide and seek with the fish

They would pop their heads out

And say hello when they realize

That I am not a threat to them

If I was a bird

There wouldn't be any rules

There wouldn't be any authority

If I was a bird

I would be free

Very well written! I really like how you added freedom in the ending, it leaves people something to think about. I really like it, good job! : )

This was a beautiful metaphor of freedom through flight. You worded this so descriptively that It brought bird flight to my mind. Great [pst!!!!
