You don’t know You can’t know

Mourning.

You don’t know

You can’t know

Until you get that unexpected phone call

Or maybe your brother walks into your room and says

“— died”

And you’re speechless

You begin to worry about his/her immediate family all while trying to hold yourself together and process what you’ve just heard

So many thoughts running through your head

...

And then you remember

The first time you lost someone forever

You’ll never see those people again

Maybe in photos

Maybe (hopefully) in a dream

But that’s it.

Life goes on.
