Atumun Leaves

By now it's ten thirty

With every drink, I'm getting older

Write my feelings on a napkin

She was gone before I told her

Draw a picture

It holds no meaning

Self-indulged gratification

All thoughts tag-teaming

Here's to you, a yesterday

Watched it leave out the door

Rid of the exit signs

I won't need them anymore

Scream, so silently

Over the autumn leaves

Send a whisper

Through the trees

Fill my glass

Before it's half full

Raise a toast

To all us fools

Here's to you, a yesterday

Watched it leave out the front door

Rid the exit signs

I won't need them anymore

I close my eyes

To pass the time

Stare at the ceilings

Our only crime

Light a smoke

Inhale the death

Enter the cold

Take a breath

Here's to you, a yesterday

Watched it leave out the door

Rid the exit signs

I don't need them anymore

Step out under the sun

Find a spot under the trees

Make a wish

And watch the autumn leaves
