You wake up, groaning at how sore your body is. You blink. Once, then twice.
Your surroundings are unfamiliar to you. You're in a forest, but not a regular one.
This forest is filled with beautiful trees, taller than one could ever imagine.
The air is fresh, and everything seems out of a myth, or a book.
Something's amiss though. While you hear the leaves rustle as if there is a breeze, there is no breeze.
You hear the birds sing their fantastical songs, but as you look up you see no lingering birds sitting in their trees.
The water is still, unnervingly still, and yet you see a devilish eye peek out of it then retreat.
Something out of a fairy tale, should not feel so uncomfortable.
Suddenly the air feels suffocating to you, and the beauty misleading.
Something isn't right. You don't see any immediate danger, and yet your senses all scream danger and panic.
The water? It could have been a crocodile perhaps. Although the only life you've seen is plant life.
It's all so unreal. You walk a bit, hoping to find the end of it. Minutes turn into hours, and hours into more hours, and then you find yourself having wandered for days, without food and water.
You're dehydrated, but would you dare get closer to the water, that could be holding something dangerous?
You quickly do it anyway, knowing you'll soon die without water.
All is well. So far.
You walk closer to the water. And closer. Cupping your hands and kneeling on your knees, you prepare to scoop some of the water into your hands.
Until you are quickly sucked in. By what? You are too dizzy to tell.
All was well, until now.
You swim frantically, trying to resurface, but to no avail.
All was well in the mystical unknown forest, but now, now..
..All is dark.
