Every cause bearing my name is just,
Every battle bearing my name is a victory,
or so you say.
But in reality, every battle you ever fought and every cause
you bore in my name was only serving you.
You pretended to protect me from the darkness,
but then when the nightmares came you threw me into the shadows.
You tell me to stand only so that you can get on my shoulders to stand taller.
You hit me at the knees to humble me you say,
but in reality, you do it so that I am smaller.
I use to look up to you from the floor
but now that I am beginning to rise,
for some reason, you want more.
So you whip me and beat me with guilt, respect, and loyalty.
