The cool autumn breeze flows against the rusty trees. A lake sits in the ground, surrounded by trees. A mute girl sits on the dock, wondering.
She wonders about her life as she watches the sunset. She smiles A little as the wind blows her chestnut hair. She hugs her soft sweater close as the sun gets lower and lower.
Her reflection is in a rainbow of soft colors on the lake as the sky turns purple and blue. The girl looks at her reflection as the sun finally fades under the earth.
For a second, the girl could have swore she had seen her reflection wave. She blinks a few times, 'huh?' She thinks to herself. The girl bends down off the dock near water.
She hesitantly leans her hand to the surface of the lake. She puts her finger in the water, except, it doesn't feel like water. 'WHAT?' she thinks.
She darts her hand out of the liquid and looks at it. Her hand isn't wet. Its dry. 'This is way too creepy for me' She thinks to herself. She looks at the lake once more. 'How?...
' Her reflection is gone. She stares at the empty water.
Her hand dips down into the strange liquid once more, then her other, and soon she built up enough confidence to put her whole upper body into the lake.
'What the f-' her thoughts were interrupted by what was under the surface. It was just like above the water. Like a reflection of the entire world. 'Wow' she thought.
She let her mouth drop at the beauty of it all. 'Wait...
' She remembered she was underwater, but, she could breathe? She was shocked that she was able to breathe but that wasn't even the start of her confusion. She was in absolute awe.
She slowly went further into the newfound replica until her hands felt the familiar wood of the dock. She pulled herself up onto the worn-out wood and looked back at the surface of the new lake.
'Is that where I came from?' She was so confused. She frantically looked around at the all too familiar environment. Everything was just like her home except the colors.
She took another glance at the strange colored lake and saw her real home through it. But this time her reflection was back, grinning menacingly.
Her heart raced and she knew exactly what happened. Her mouth gaped open and she frantically darted at the surface of water.
Her hands went near the water to her real home but when she put her hands under the liquid, she almost cried at the discovery she had made. She was putting her hands in water. Ordinary water.
She was stuck in this strange place. This fake home. Her new home. Forever.
