The next morning, an hour after dawn, I wake up and get ready. I only have one pair of clothes, but I washed it last night, so it should be fine for now. I plan to go out to find a job that can pay decently, so I can at least afford some new clothes. I go to the nearest restaurant, and ask to see the manager. She comes out and asks, “What can I do for you?” I reply, “Can I get a job here?” I
look at her name tag, which says ‘Seraphina’. She thinks for a second and asks me, “Any previous experience of cooking?” I respond, “Yes, I used to cook for my friends back up in hea-” I catch myself just in time, “Heavenly Acres.” Luckily she didn’t dwell on it. Seraphina continues, “Any experience in cooking burgers?” I shake my head.
Seraphina says, “Sorry, but you look kind of young to be working here. And with no experience in cooking burgers too. Better look somewhere else for a job.” I hang my head down and nod. “Thanks anyway,” I say and head toward the exit. When the sunlight hits my face, I wince and cover it. “Too bright,” I mumble. Ironically, since I used to live in heaven. I head to a
couple more jobs that have an open space, but no luck. They all think I’m too young. I sit down on a bench near the pool at Drew and Rory’s house and a flyer slapped me in the face. It was all like 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘩 𝘰𝘰𝘩! 𝘐’𝘮 𝘨𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘭𝘢𝘱 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘨𝘪𝘳𝘭 𝘪𝘯 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘧𝘢𝘤𝘦 𝘸𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘴𝘩! I grab it and yank it off my face and something catches my eye. It says, 𝘏𝘪𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨 𝘚𝘵𝘶𝘥𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘛𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳! 𝘏𝘦𝘭𝘱 𝘵𝘦𝘢𝘤𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘴 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘨𝘦𝘵 𝘱𝘢𝘪𝘥 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘭𝘦𝘢𝘳𝘯 𝘯𝘦𝘸 𝘵𝘩𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘴 𝘢𝘣𝘰𝘶𝘵
𝘤𝘩𝘪𝘭𝘥𝘳𝘦𝘯! 𝘈𝘨𝘦𝘴 15-18 𝘪𝘴 𝘳𝘦𝘤𝘰𝘮𝘮𝘦𝘯𝘥𝘦𝘥 𝘪𝘧 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘱𝘢𝘵𝘪𝘦𝘯𝘵 𝘰𝘳 𝘴𝘮𝘢𝘳𝘵! 𝘗𝘢𝘺𝘴 24k-48k 𝘢𝘯𝘯𝘶𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺! 𝘚𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘶𝘱 𝘯𝘰𝘸! I get up immediately and remember, ‘𝘖𝘩 𝘺𝘦𝘢𝘩, 𝘐 𝘥𝘰𝘯’𝘵 𝘬𝘯𝘰𝘸 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘴𝘤𝘩𝘰𝘰𝘭 𝘪𝘴 𝘰𝘳 𝘸𝘩𝘦𝘳𝘦 𝘵𝘰 𝘴𝘪𝘨𝘯 𝘶𝘱.’ I shrug and ask for directions. 10-17 dollars per hour is pretty good in my opinion. If it’s not, I mean, I can get some stuff right? Like clothes, food, maybe rent. I search online
first, find this place called Preserve at Greenway Park. I take a bus to go visit it, and it’s not bad! I can live here for a month or so. The rent is alright, $775 per month. I quickly calculate in my head, 𝘐𝘧 𝘐 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 17 𝘥𝘰𝘭𝘭𝘢𝘳𝘴 𝘱𝘦𝘳 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘐 𝘸𝘰𝘳𝘬 6 𝘩𝘰𝘶𝘳𝘴, 𝘵𝘩𝘢𝘵 𝘸𝘰𝘶𝘭𝘥 𝘣𝘦 $102. 𝘈𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘶𝘭𝘵𝘪𝘱𝘭𝘺 𝘪𝘵 𝘣𝘺 30 𝘥𝘢𝘺𝘴, $3060 𝘢 𝘮𝘰𝘯𝘵𝘩, I concluded. Enough for me to make a living. I took the bus back to Drew and Rory’s
house and walk to the registering place. I sign up and the next day, I’ll start working!
Hey guys! Guess what? I found this website that can make text italic! That way, it’s easier for me to manage. Italics are either thoughts or something else. ~~ ᗰᎥ𝕤ℴ
