It crept silently from person to person.
Like a black cloud nobody could see,
it spread across the world.
When it finally attacked it was too late,
for every last person had been infected.
The deaths started slowly at first.
A person here or there, not noticed.
Soon, emergency rooms were overrun.
By the time they knew what it was, it was too late.
The world did not end in a bang.
It ended in a whimper.
