My muscles are tense and coiled, like a snake ready to strike.

Melt Away

My muscles are tense and coiled,

like a snake ready to strike.

The edge hasn't left for days.

My two states of being,

are sleep and panic.

Twelve hours of each.

So the days go.

I can't do anything,

but fret and fuss.

I want to live.

I want to hide.

I want to run away.

But there is nowhere to go.

So I try not to cry,

while day after day goes by.

The endless loop,

is becoming agonizing.

My brain needs stimulation.

My life needs more.

I'm tired of being so sore.

But that's what I expect,

when day after day after day

I have nothing to do but sit,

and watch my dreams melt away.
