A poem about my childhood memories and the better days of my life

Childhood

When the trees were greener And the sky was bluer I went to the place where we met Where those sandcastles were set

Playing until dawn I look at it as I go indoors The playground may be gone But the energy still lingers

Friendships fade and break Schools and sadness overtake Oh, the things I'd do To find out this adult life is fake

To wake up to chirping birds And friends on the old playground When mental health wasn't a house of cards When we weren't allowed to go to the town

The light summer rain hitting leaves The vibe that never leaves The vibe that I won't get back Unless I turn my back

Turn my back to anxiety Turn my back so quietly Say goodbye to adult life And feel joy about being alive
