Looking for the truth

The Divide

The Divide By: Mike Mezz

There are some very simple tools To separate knowledge and fools The lines between us are not real Conditioning is what makes us feel....

Persecuted

And apathy will just feed the hate So we can never allow it to overtake

People are not born with racism It's an environmental acquisition The lines between us are self made Leaders lack of morals spread hate...

And ignorance

Empathy always wins in the end It's the only way we should begin

I am watching America's divide Searching for the truth in a desert of lies I only found it when I closed my eyes

Imagining a place where the eagles fly

Imagining a place where the eagles fly Where freedom rings for all mankind

Coming back to the realization Politics and the polarization Told not to believe what we see or hear They tell us how we're supposed to feel...

Indoctrination

Repetition drilled into our head It's how their hate and lies are spread

Now, here's a real revelation They don't care about our situation Politicians strive to see us fight It doesn't matter if you lean left or right.....

Categorization

As people we have the same plight But divided we can't win the fight

We are seeing America's divide Searching for the truth and what it means What about the flag we wave? And all the freedoms that we sing?

If we refuse to respect each other None of that will ever mean a thing

I'm still watching America's divide Diving for the truth in a sea of lies I only found it when I closed my eyes

Imagining a place where the eagles fly

Imagining a place where the eagles fly Where freedom rings for all mankind

Just close your eyes
