Why didn't we listen?

Our Faces Are Covered

Our Faces Are Covered By: Mike Mezz

I can't believe it's happened They said it always would Why didn't we believe them? We didn't listen to a single word

Memories are all that's left As children we paid no attention Looking around at all the dead As adults we just didn't listen

Our faces are covered

We can't breathe the air

We can't breathe the air We can't drink the water

Are we left here to die?

The climate is warmer everyday Factories pollute our waterways They didn't listen to the fears Just wanting four more years

Our ears are covered

Our ears are covered So we can't hear the cries

Our faces are covered

Are we left here to die?

We didn't listen We didn't learn Important lessons Were never heard

We are running out of time So we must act now We can still turn the tide Our future is in doubt

We must listen We must learn We must pay attention We must be heard
