One Final Time

One Final Time By: Mike Mezz

The leaves are greening The Crickets are sounding off The coats are leaving And the birds are flying aloft

I don't know where you are Or if you're happy or not You were my shooting star Just like that, you are gone

Can I call you sweetheart? Just one final time? You could have at least Came to say goodbye

The grass is getting greener But not on the other side Just like thunder showers Things change all the time

Up on stage the crowds cheer But you're still on my mind It feels so empty up here Without you by my side

Can I call you darling? Just one final time? You could have at least Came and said goodbye

In case you want to know I'm doing just fine I'm happy with my life Though you're no longer mine

But I do think about you And how you're getting along Everything seems all new I'm still singing my songs

You left our love up in the air Our dreams are separate now You're on a stage somewhere Both playing in different towns

Can I call you my girl? Just one last time? At least give me a chance To tell you goodbye
