Hungry and Alone By: Mike Mezz
The snow fell for the third straight day A fire barrel with collected trash smokes away To seek shelter is a lost cause Those musty places are filled to the walls
Some people say I've lost my mind And I know it's not what it use to be But other than life on the crowded streets Sand and choppers are all I see
I'm Hungry and all Alone
I'm Hungry and all Alone The streets are my home
My country thinks me as a leper In my camo coat and pale green blanket My only friend is a stray dog With him I will fight to make it
In my mind I know why I registered The pursuit of happiness and to spread freedom In a damn war to help my country I came back to this hellish little kingdom
I collected more trash for my dying fire I came across a newspaper on the icy ground America stays in unjustified wars I hope they don't come home to what I found
I'm Hungry and all alone I feel so far from home
I'm Hungry for a country I'm hungry for a home
I'm hungry and all alone
