Digital Quicksand By: Mike Mezz
I sit alone contemplating What is missing in this land? I desperately try to remember A time before sinking in digital quicksand
I try to meditate and focus In an attempt to recapture Some missing piece of reality Or the essence of a life unfractured
When I look around to clarify All I see are numb empty faces The world is waiting to die And this apathy is so suffocating
Is anyone breathing?
It's a slow decay of the mind As I search the world incessantly For someone with the answers To questions that are plaquging me
I scream in vain but I'm invisible Is there anyone who will listen? Am I screaming in digital? Is this a human transmission?
Are you paying attention?
Are we lost in a world Where nothing else matters?
Are we lost in a world Where nothing else matters? Are we lost in a domain Where everything is scattered?
Zombified in digital quicksand Nobody talks face to face Always having phones in hand Wondering around in cyberspace
I sit alone contemplating What is missing in this land? I desperately try to remember A time before the digital quicksand
Are you paying attention yet?
