My life was about to change forever.....

A Million Diamonds

A Million Diamonds By: Mike Mezz

She was standing there in aisle twelve Her shopping cart blocking the way I forgot why I even went in there In a busy store that Autumn day

She was definitely out of my league And I tried hard but I couldn't focus Her beauty made it hard to speak I didn't realize that she had spoken

I couldn't say anything very clever Seems like such a lifetime ago My life was about to change forever After my nervous voice said "hello"

We fell in love but she's not here today And sometimes late at night I pray We'll meet again somewhere, someday The girl in aisle twelve took my heart away

I wish I may, I wish I might Won't every star I see tonight A million diamonds up above Shine upon on the one I love The girl in aisle twelve was the one

Our time together wasn't long enough It's not easy to find your soulmate Heaven calling her home was tough I take solace knowing she's no longer in pain

It's so difficult to allow anyone else in When true love is found it's hard to find again I know she checks in on me from time to time Memories outweigh the inconsolable goodbye

The poets have a thousand stories to tell About some lost love moving into the light But our life was a true fairytale I hope somehow she can read these words I write

I wish I may, I wish I might Won't every star I see tonight A million diamonds up above Shine upon the one I love The girl in aisle twelve was the one

Does she know that I sleep alright at night? Because in my dreams I hold her tight Does the girl in aisle twelve watch me still? I love her now and I know I always will
