Muse

Slip into song, you are safe there

Twisting between rhythm and lyric

As I twist my fingers through my hair

And stare placidly at the page

"What have you done to me?"

Lips pursed upon a hollowed hymn

That echoes and haunts my chest cavity

A ghost without a name

Take this and leave,

All of this, all of me,

Your soft smile and softer gaze

And the silver tongue that sharpened

When you told me not to bleed.

Don't hum this song, just dissapear

With your adornments and these lyrics

Now I sing alone, I am safe here

Without your poems on this page.
