The Wind and The Moon

by MelindaLit

The Wind sang deep and thick tunes to her every night,

But the Moon continued to sit worlds away from him,

Only ever deciding to sit a little closer when she wanted to feel the coolness of an earthly breeze.

"Let me reach you," crooned the Wind.

"No," she replied, "For I know the hideous habits of Earth's creations."

"Over the years, I have witnessed terrestial life indulge in the physical, temporary pleasures of Earth, but these pleasures only ever satisfy the flesh."

"I do not want you to be shown the fruits of Earth, which will only lead me to an insatiable persuit for pleasure."
