A prince of Hei was riding through the land of Hong with five coins and three notes.
A native saw his steed and slurred: ‘You do not deserve him’, and the prince tossed him a coin.
A second native saw his steed and slurred: ‘You do not deserve it’, and the prince tossed him a coin.
A third native saw his steed and slurred: ‘You do not deserve her’, and the prince tossed him a coin.
The following morning, as he lay arest, his steed came up to him as a nymph carrying three coins and said: ‘You have seared me.’
The prince showed the nymph his remaining two coins and three notes, and the nymph said: ‘Take me as your disciple.’
Together they met three natives of the land of Hong who bowed their heads and said: ‘We misunderstood you. We do not deserve you.’
They offered the prince incenses and essences and amulets. The prince burnt the offerings in a pung pyre.
Following the kindling’s crest, the nymph became the steed again. The three natives pushed prince and steed into the fire and absconded.
