Kids These Days

We stand in the footprints of man We leap off of the shoulders of giants We built the walls of Hadrian and we will not give into compliance

You tell us to be silence You say to shut our voice But the homes of the old are built by the backs of the young and those without a choice

This world is taken for granted as you drive past protests in cars “Can't help it,” you say as you shrug it off your shoulders “as a group, it's who we are.”

“Look at the world we inherit is that where you want your child to be?” we shriek and we cry and you say with a sigh, “Man, look at kids these days”
