a poem from my PC's POV after 2 characters got revived. Which raised some confrontation with her Trauma, where she lost people in the past.

Spiders (DnD poem)

As the spiders crawled out

As the spiders crawled out And I looked at the dead

As the spiders crawled out And I looked at the dead All I could think of was this fear

As the spiders crawled out And I looked at the dead All I could think of was this fear Of moving ahead

There were people underground

There were people underground Unwilling buried alive

There were people underground Unwilling buried alive We all stood a chance

There were people underground Unwilling buried alive We all stood a chance But the good ones they died

The ones willing to stand

The ones willing to stand For their own sacrifice

The ones willing to stand For their own sacrifice For the love and their bonds

The ones willing to stand For their own sacrifice For the love and their bonds A cruel fate by the dice

The fallen lay still

The fallen lay still And the walls became colder

The fallen lay still And the walls became colder These are memories that will stay

The fallen lay still And the walls became colder These are memories that will stay And not fade when I grow older

But now I see fate

But now I see fate Being resisted by will

But now I see fate Being resisted by will Angry gods accepting

But now I see fate Being resisted by will Angry gods accepting The request to fulfill

And I can't help but wonder

And I can’t help but wonder Whether the bridges I have burned

And I can’t help but wonder Whether the bridges I have burned Were still a road I could have walked

And I can’t help but wonder Whether the bridges I have burned Were still a road I could have walked If I had just turned
