HAPPY INDIGENOUS PEOPLES DAY!

Many countries are celebrating Indigenous Peoples Day today, as a Monday holiday and thus a three-day weekend, in place of "Columbus Day" (traditionally observed 12 October).

Also on 11 October, in1878 and in Argentina, the "Campana del Desierto" began with the objective to "cleanse" the southern part of the country - from the pampas to Tierra del Fuego - of all the indigenous nations and open the lands to European settlers.

And our poetic journey today will take us to that country.

Safe Journeys!
