Happiness doesn’t always last.

Drowning underwater

The waves were warm and inviting. I was always smiling. Breathe in, breathe out. The water continued to flow. I just wanted to be with it. Who wouldn’t want to be in such a magestical land?

Full of mysteries. The waves soaked up the sun, creating beautiful colors. I got closer, it now covered my ankles. Breathe in, breathe out. The smell reminded me of home.

I could smell the freshly made salt water taffy. The waters flowed across my waist. No longer did I feel pain. I only felt the lovely waves. The water was warm and loving unlike anything I had experienced.

I can feel it around my face. It starts to enter my body. I try to laugh with happiness but all it does is steal my breath. I see my hair floating, along with the beautiful rays of sun. But I start to sink.

I start to feel pain again. I try to reach out for my mother. I can see her just out of reach. She looks sad. Then I try to move but I no longer have control.

The water gets darker. It’s harder to see. All I can see is red. I try to cry but the waters consume me. I was under water. No one can save me now. It’s all over.
