I guess this short poem is about the feeling when you're either ignoring all of your texts or lying that you're fine when you're really not... hope you've never had this experience before😬

fabricated truths

they say enough water droplets will turn into a river

then how long until a river turns into a teardrop?

erosion of skin,

erosion of skin, the creation of canyons so deep,

erosion of skin, the creation of canyons so deep, it pools the salt water into its pointed crevices

erosion of skin, the creation of canyons so deep, it pools the salt water into its pointed crevices that can disappear with just a flick of a finger

as you would scroll through your phone,

as you would scroll through your phone, water racing down the screen,

as you would scroll through your phone, water racing down the screen, seeing who'd make it to your thumb first

it's typing away lies tucked behind your teeth,

it's typing away lies tucked behind your teeth, truth forced down your throat

sits as a pit inside the slime of guilt

sits as a pit inside the slime of guilt until it becomes too much to fathom

and fades as a stain into your pillow.
