how to say i don't need you anymore (sort of)

angels

by lexi

how to say i don’t need you anymore

i chew your name it tastes like burning rubber

dark shades of blue, and sour blackberries

my paintings, predominantly, are orange

i visit the place we met but it looks like

someone’s painted over the bricks and wrote “he’s not here” on the walls

i have not yet met a soul

that reflects the pastel colors i saw in the sky

when you hugged me for the first time

(and i swore i saw angels)

and i decide that i miss the way you looked

with your old glasses

how to say

i don’t think you ever needed me

So sentimental. The words bring me to the feeling of loss without any included self-destruction. This was good in a sort of Rod McKuen way. But better. I liked it. Really good work!!!
