Grown-ups;

by letspretend

Dear future.

Oh, how young you are; how young and naive and afraid. You're afraid, aren't you? You're in a position that is quite possibly one of the hardest points you've ever been in, in your young life.

You want passion, you want responsibility, you want freedom. You'd like to break free from the shackles and chains put around your necks and wrists by my generation, is that it?

Do you have any idea what you're asking for? Do you have any idea how horrible it is in the real world? Oh, sweet little goat; you have no idea.

You will be broken; you will be crushed and you will be expected to stand up and endure. You will soon learn that in order to survive you must lock away those passions you hold so dear.

In this wold, in this great big world; you will be trialed and tested and beaten and bruised. My dear one; you do not want to grow up. Stay as you are, sweet and naive; only a little while more.

I loved this essay/poem. Little do the little ones know that freedom from parents means enslavement to any economy that doesn't care if they live or die. This was a well-written message to the young. Great work!!!
