A reminder to why women should continue to use her agency.

The Rose

Petals, enticing

Vibrant red

A magnet to the lustful eye.

Soft, seductive, persuasive.

Like lace against the

Silhouette of an effeminate figure.

Lurid yet subtle.

An unintentional circumstance existence

Leaves, a facade worn to conceal

Its beauty

To ward off unwanted affection.

Deep, serious green,

Serrated Edges like dull

Razor blades.

A rigid adornment

in contrast to the

loud, yet supple & inviting

petals.

Thorns, a lethal modification.

A result of years of

being used, feeling defied

enjoyed for the rose's allure

instead of it's value.

A prickly reminder of the strength

and agency the Rose poses.
