You didn't give me butterflies.

You gave me fireworks.

In your eyes, there was no warmth.

There were flames.

Your touch didn't make me tingle.

It made me melt.

Your kisses were not delicious.

They were exquisite.

I only saw light in you.

Until I realized your darkness was bigger than both of us combined.

The fireworks disappeared.

Your touch made me shiver.

Your kisses were disgusting.

And those flames in your eyes...

It was not the passion from our love.

They were simply a reflection of my destruction.

I loved the lyrical character of your carefully worded masterpiece. The conflict and tension was electrifying. Great poem. @carolinepranke described the verses beyond my poor efforts to explain.

This is a beautifully constructed poem, with incredible parallel structure! The title is also very creative and eye-catching!
