What do you do when imagination starts to die?
Is the world truly so dark as a dead fairy’s eyes?

A Dead Fairy’s Eyes By KR Wonder

The griffin roars and tumbles from the sky

What’s a lion to do without his wings to fly?

He plucks his feathers one by one until

He's as bald as reality is cold

What do you do when imagination starts to die?

Is the world truly so dark as a dead fairy's eyes?

Who is in the mirror that I see?

Asks the vampire as his fangs recede

The sun don't burn and there's no taste for blood

Why live without the thrill of the hunt?

What do you do when imagination starts to die?

Is the world truly so dark as a dead fairy's eyes?

The selkie removes her skin and walks along the beach

The sand is warm and squishy under her feet

Her seal skin dries and crumbles with the breeze

Time to say goodbye to her life of land and sea

What do you do when imagination starts to die?

Is the world truly so dark as a dead fairy's eyes?

The old phoenix trembles before he ignites

For the very first time, he's afraid to die

And for the very first time from his ashes he won't rise

The tears fall as the flames eat him alive

What do you do when imagination starts to die?

Is the world truly so dark as a dead fairy's eyes?
