12 days to the end. I had made up my mind to do a final decluttering before moving on with my journey. I started by placing three huge boxes in the middle of the room and labelling them with coloured paper.
The green one showed the things that would be given away to others; the one with red label would be filled with things that were meant to be discarded; the last one in blue was the one with things that would be kept close to me until the end of my journey.
Looking into my wardrobe, I found clothes, bags, hats, and accessories that would belong to the green box. While checking out my shelf, I saw books which could be shared with others and some that were so out of shape and had to go to the red box.
Lying on my bed were mostly soft toys that were too shabby to be retained any longer. Going through the drawer at my study desk, I managed to retrieve a diary, a photo album, a few letters and cards that were too valuable to be disposed.
At the end of the day when I looked at the three boxes, a sharp pang flickered across my heart as I realized how little I could bring along with me when it was time to leave the world…
