How it feels to grow up before you are ready. Feelings of a girl who is leaving for college but doesn't think she's ready. *fiction*

Luggage

Everyone has skeletons

In their closet, whether or not, they want to talk about it

These things we chose to keep

Hidden and buried beneath

We take them where ever we go

Middle school to High school

College is no different

Everyone has these things inside us

They weigh us down but the difference is

Those who can learn to float,

And those who sink and drown

Capsized by their own belief

Their luggage was pulling them down

College, where we learn to be adults,

But where many feel alone,

The burden of their luggage,

Turns out to be too much

Yearning to go home

Back to the days

Staying up late,

Not dreading to be awake,

The days less restraining, not killing yourself, training for a job you hate,

Straining, paying,

To stay alive.
