I was given the prompt "Lap" by one of my lovely readers and I hope you all enjoy!

Come, sit

Tears run down her face, as she tries to find solace in my arms, I tell her, "come sit, put your head in my lap, and tell me what's wrong, dear", and she sighs, "They don't let me come along,

they tell me I'm not strong, because I cry too much", and I smile sympathetically, and I reply, "That's because they don't know, they don't understand what it's like to feel everything so deeply,

maybe no one let them weep on their mother's lap," Because feelings don't make you weak, like words don't make you speak, you have to learn what to burn, and what to put away for a rainy day,

dry those tears up, relax, lay your head on my lap, and feel, sob, wail, until your eyes dry, people have to learn to let emotions run their course, and exit, not keep them bottled and pent up.

Come sit.
