When I was a little girl, I always dreamed of my perfect wedding. I would imagine walking down the aisle in my beautiful wedding dress.
I would reach my husband to be and he would look at me like I was the only girl in the world for him.
Now here I am years later, looking into the eyes of my amazing husband to be. All those things have come true and I could not be happier.
As the priest is talking, Michael leans forward to whisper to me, "You look beautiful in that dress. That being said I am even more excited to see what is under it."
"Do you Vanessa Garcia take Michael Anderson to be your lawfully wedded husband..."
"I do," I say gazing into Michael's eyes with so much love.
"Do you Michael..."
"Stop! Michael, you can't marry her." That would be Patricia, Michael's fling from before we started dating.
From what Michael told me they had a one night stand years ago and she still has not moved on.
"What the hell, what are you doing here Patricia?" He rages before turning and apologising to the priest "Sorry Father"
"I came to save you from her," Patricia points at me, sending mental daggers my way.
"Patricia, I am only going to say this once. I never want to see your face again, leave."
This is mine and Michael's day and I am not going to allow someone who cannot take a hint to ruin it.
"Patricia, I am the one getting married to Michael. He is not interested in you, all you two had was a one night stand, get over it."
"No, Michael and I are not over until I say we are!" Patricia screams hysterically.
Before I register what is happening, Patricia pulls scissors out of her jacket as she runs towards me. I worry she is going to stab me but her next actions surprise me.
She picks up the bottom of my dress from the floor and cuts it up.
Michael grabs her and pushes her away from me before he starts yelling at her, "Stay away from me and Vanessa or so help me I will make you regret meeting me!
" Finally, that seems to have knocked sense into her because she cowers in fear and runs out of the church.
Michael grabs my face, "Are you ok? I'm sorry about your dress."
"All that matters is that I marry you."
"There is nothing to worry about there. Nothing is ever going to come between us."
After reciting our vows, the priest finishes off, "I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may now kiss the bride."
In less than a second, I felt Michael's lips on mine for a sweet kiss, tying the bond between us. Today marks the beginning of a new life together and I couldn't be happier.
