Home

by kateurquhart

I want a beautiful weatherboard house.

Cream coloured walls

with navy blue edging around the windows and front door.

An old fashioned veranda around the front of the house,

with wonky steps leading down to an ancient brick path, peppered with moss.

And an overgrown garden

bursting with rosemary

and lavender

and diosma

reigned in by a friendly picket fence.

I'll have a chair on the veranda

so I can sit there in the morning, watch the sun rise, and drink my tea.

There'll be bookshelves on every wall

and a kettle in every room.

@bernardtwindwil It sounds like your life is pretty perfect now. You must have worked very hard to get where you are today!

@kateurquhart I ended up with my dream house. an outdoor but enclosed by house on three sides a patio with fountains and an inground pool. Now that the heat has abated, I sit outside in the backyard and write. My wife makes me virgin margaritas every now and then and brings them out to me. Just keep putting one foot infront of the other.

@bernardtwindwil All kinds of tea will be accepted, loved, and enjoyed, however English Breakfast is a particular favourite of mine. This house is my dream, and hopefully the description comes to life one day.

This was a beautiful description. It sounds like a wonderful place. Will you be making English Breakfast Tea? I loved this pretty poem about this ethereal house. Great job!!!!
