Youth has its obvious beauties
How we radiate gold.
But with this youth, this skin
Comes a truth.
They only want you in the summer
When that gold glows.
The fall brings only separation
Though the skin stays warm,
Their hearts turn cold.
Winter will only leave you dry
In hopes that spring can change
But it’s only the summer,
When the skin drips all the water
From all the seasons that have passed
Do they then find thirst.
