Disclaimer: Do NOT judge unless you read ALL of my stories in order. I’m not a statistic, trust me.
It was towards the end of 11th grade and I was in the middle of my nursing class texting my boyfriend of two years. My mind was racing wondering if I had gotten my period yet.
It has already been a week, maybe finals are stressing me out. All throughout summer, I had to do an intense gym class.
After my summer of gym, I went to my dad and asked if I could do cyber school because people were bullying me (they were, and would bully me when they knew I was pregnant).
He sat down and talked with me, and we decided to ask a teacher since I do have a little bit of a learning issue. They told my dad that it was going to be rough for me.
I did not loose hope, because I had a funny feeling someone was going to be counting on me, my child. I looked at Cody and asked if I should take a test again.
The first test I took looked negative and I did bleed for a day which I found odd because my cycle is about two weeks long. He handed me the test and I shut the bathroom door.
Nervously, I paced the bathroom back and forth while timing it on my phone.” I glanced over and see a plus sign. I open the door slowly and tell him to please come here.
His face lights up and he hugs me. I look at him, “ I am scared.” The next day my dad and I had to go to a meeting about my cyber school. After our meeting, we went to get ice cream.
For some reason, I was not very hungry so I was eating slowly. My dad glares at me, “Jessica, are you pregnant?” I look to the side, “ I don’t think I am.
” That sane night, I ended up throwing up in the trash. My boyfriend backs away and looks grossed out. I turn to him and say “thank you so much for holding my hair.
” My dad walks into the kitchen and asks if I am alright.” “Dad, I’m fine. I probably just ate something that was spoiled.” He dropped the subject for a few more days.
One day I was sitting out my patio enjoying the sun and panicking. My mom walks out to see my crying. “Jessica, what’s wrong?” “Mom, I am pregnant.” My mom almost jumped up and down.
“I am going to be a grandma.” She tells me to stay put so that she can tell dad since I was too scared. She opens the screen door and walks back outside.
“Sorry, but dad went to get us food we will have to tell him when he gets back.” My boyfriend was at work, so I had to face him on my own.
The time seemed to go so slow, but I finally heard my dads car lock. My mom goes back in and comes out a few minutes later. She signals me to go inside.
I hesitate to get up out of my white patio chair. He looks at me, “I am disappointed, but we will figure this out together.
We are going to get you into cyber school so that you do not have any more stress.” It was awkward until my boyfriend came over and then it got more awkward because my dad had a talk with him.
I had to call my doctor to set up an appointment. A few weeks later my dad, boyfriend, mom and I were sitting in the waiting room.
The doctor calls us back and I get handed paperwork and a bunch of folders telling me what to avoid during pregancy. The doctor pulls out this thing and puts it on my stomach.
We all got to hear the heartbeat and I had tears in my eyes. “It looks like the baby is 11 weeks. Jessica will be able to get a ultrasound done in a few weeks”.
They gave me my due date which was February 4th. A few weeks pass by and my mom, dad and I are at the ultrasound appointment. My mom and I go back together.
They put this cold jelly on my stomach and rub this thing on me. My mom and I look at the screen and I see her start to cry then I start to cry. I see a little human inside of me.
This is not real, no way. My dad works at the hospital, so we ended up showing all of his co workers a picture of my ultrasound.
I picked it up and looked closely, “I think I am going to be having a boy.” My dad looks at it as well and shakes his head yes.
I started going around telling everyone the babies name is going to be Mason. I have always had a thing for “M” names. If it does happen to be a girl, I had a set name for her, Madilyn.
I start to feel a flutter in my stomach and then harder kicks. In a few weeks I will get to find out the gender. My boyfriend guessed a boy, I guessed a girl towards the end.
We all wait in the waiting room. My dad turns to me and says if it’s a boy good luck because he will be like his dad.
Nothing against his dad, but I wanted to be close to my kid and do makeup together. My mom and I go back while my dad waits for the results.
When my mom and I walked out of the waiting room, he could tell what the gender was before I even said anything based on my facial expressions.
Dad, I would like to let you know that you are going to be a grandpa to a baby ....
To be continued. The gender will be revealed in my labor story.
