David proclaimed to the Lord as he gave praise.
The Creator of the universe, of Heaven and of Earth,
He conceived me into my being amidst fear and wonder...
A pleasing and sweet song it was to the ego,
When I had first heard of it many a year ‘go.
Not ‘til that day I held my own did I comprehend,
The true substance of the words and the psalmist's intent.
Her head barely filled my palm; her foot no bigger ‘n my thumb.
Fragile and delicate was she, my arms were hesitant to reach.
I trembled out of fear and awe as she fin’lly came into my embrace,
And just one word could I utter as I met my beloved face to face:
