I can’t fake another smile.

Fake Smiles

A smile creeps onto my face, but it doesn’t reach my eyes.

A smile creeps onto my face, but it doesn’t reach my eyes. I’ll always feel out of place, because this smile is just a disguise.

Happiness is just a mask, Numb is what I truly feel.

Happiness is just a mask, Numb is what I truly feel. Managing a smile is always a trying task; Behind this facade are layers no one dare peel.

Despite what I feel the smile grows wider, Like the trees in winter I’ll always feel cold.

Despite what I feel the smile grows wider, Like the trees in winter I’ll always feel cold. The restricting in my chest is becoming tighter. All I want is someone to hold.

I’m only myself when I’m alone. It won’t be much longer till I break.

I’m only myself when I’m alone. It won’t be much longer till I break. I wish I had someone to call home. When will they realize that all my smiles are fake.
