True Colors

by johnchang

A scorpion asks a frog to carry it across a river

Hesitantly the frog asks, "How do I know you won't kill me?"

"Don't be silly," says the scorpion. "We'd both drown then."

Finally, the frog shrugs and agrees.

Halfway across the river the scorpion stings the frog

“Why would you do this?” asks the frog.

"We're both going to drown!"

“Because I am a scorpion..”

“..and that’s what scorpions do!”

“When people show you who they are, believe them!”

Oprah Winfrey quoting her friend, Maya Angelou

@bernardtwindwil - wow, that's quite a story in itself! It reminded me of the Karate Kid. Complete with training montage!

People will mostly reveal their true colors when they are angry that is the time to take note

@johnchang I read "Tough enough" It was admirable. I was beaten up daily until the summer I turned 6. My grandmother's next door neighbor was an old beat up prizefighter. He taught me to fight and stand-up for myself. I was small but the Gods blessed me with incredible physical strength. I started beating the shit out of all the guys and a couple of girls that had bullied me in the past. I also learned to call a striped horse a zebra.

Thanks, @bernardtwindwil - y, this was one of the other lessons I learned with my own experiences facing bullying as a kid, mentioned in "Tough Enough" - https://commaful.com/play... Often, kids don't know why they do what they do. Way before Hunger Games there was Lord of the Flies.

This was a learned approach to identifying hostile probabilities in behavior. This would be great for children. Maya Angelou has a remarkable mind. It was great to pass on here wisdom. ANOTHER GREAT JOB!!!!!
