-Sophia" Scene 1

Sophia watched everyone entranced, with their partners swinging from side to side. She fiddled with her corsage, contemplating, but the fear was greater than her courage.

Her heart ached, as her legs desired to glide across the floor. She clenched her fist, trying to resist, but then Marc approached.

"Would you like to dance?"

"No,"

"No," she paused, and looked away with flustered cheeks.

"No," she paused, and looked away with flustered cheeks. "I mean I can't dance."

"It's ok," he winked, "I can't dance either but I have a hunch we should." His smile echoed his words as he reached out.

"And that is?"

"You'll have to trust me and take my hand"

Sophia stepped away shaking her head, fear permeate her eyes. Her mascara caressed her cheeks as she ran away from Marc.

She stopped, and caught her breath, bursting into tears wondering.

She stopped, and caught her breath, bursting into tears wondering. "Why can't I be normal?"

A cloth was forced on her face.

A cloth was forced on her face. She fought back and struggled as her world faded black.
