The idea that a small act of kindness can change a person's day has always seemed to be floating around. No matter the era, it always seems to resurface.
This idea is very true, to me at least.
Kindness does change a person's day. An act of kindness, no matter how small can make a big difference.
I have never been the happiest person. I have been bullied, insulted, and mocked for my whole life.
It has been a stressful and horrible way to grow up.
I have been suicidal for a long while now.
I had just experienced a horrible thing- public humiliation.
I was mocked and verbally abused by my crush, who had just discovered my crush on him.
I was ready to end it all. I know it sounds silly, having dealt with much more than this for years, but this was the tipping point.
I was done. I was ready for the sweet embrace of death.
But, on my way back to my home after the whole crush ordeal, a stranger came up to me.
She was very nice. She told her opinion of how horrible the things my crush said. She told me that if I needed anything to call her.
That was just one single, small act of kindness. But it saved my life.
Brcause of this, I didn't take my life. I also learned to be kind to everyone, just in case I could do the same for someone else.
So please, remember that kindness changes everything. Please be kind to one another.
