In ancient times there was the witch trial myriad of tests such as would they drown in Water

A Poem on the historical truth of witch trials, innocent women burnt at the stake for ultimately a reinstatement of patriachy after the wars that left the male population dessimated.
A sestina poem a difficult and technical style that has some length to it i hope you enjoy it as much as it requireth me to be attentive.

Witch Trials the true heresy -Sestina French style Poem-

In ancient times there was the witch trial

A myriad of tests such as would they drown in Water

These elements seem to influence humanity it desecrates

They would even set them to the Flames

The innocent women were often Beguiled

They were just like us walking the Earth

This tyranny was disseminated across Earth

One without a fair and just Trial

Where justice and law were completely Beguiled

Where was the mercy and forgiveness of holy Water?

Those who condemned innocent women to death surely face the Flames

Otherwise retribution, justice completely desecrates.

What quality of humane spirit desecrates?

As women died in the thousands on this Earth

Engulfed and facing consciously the burning Flames

There was no logic or knowledge used for the trial

Over than the fiery spirits of men pointing fingers absent of Water

Surely in the afterlife those men’s souls are Beguiled

The sense of self is completely Beguiled

When we think about how humanity Desecrates

If they did or did not float in Water

They were still banished from the Earth

The hearsay of the menacing Trial

Ending with a public show of death and Flames

When I think of those Flames

And how history hath been Beguiled

By the inquisition and the mock Trial

My soul and heart the notion Desecrates

Never again on this Earth

Or let us all be swallowed by Water

So, would you set someone upon the Water

The inquisition and the wrath of Flames

It was a swath across all the Earth

Men’s mortality made them Jealous and Beguiled

And as for the human spirit it Desecrates

Would anyone want to face a witch trial

The Water Certainly Beguiled. Facing Flames, Humanity Desecrates. Let it be the last on Earth, lest we forget the witch Trial.
