The waves gently blanket the shore Paving gentle footsteps on the floor/ a poem about being mindful and embracing the storms that life throws at you. And retaining a sense of calm

The Bhodi Tree is my shelter from the storm

The waves gently blanket the shore

Paving gentle footsteps on the floor

Calmly reclaimed by the ocean

Highly acclaimed whispers of devotion

Gently echo across the harbour

Sheltered under a tree’s arbour

I listen to the rolling thunder

As I nestle calmly under

The bodhi tree

The thunder is like gentle percussion

The sand dunes the beaches cushions

Here I am free.

As the lightening acts as a mellow lamp

My hands are cupped in prayer like a clamp

Calm yet amongst the turmoil

My ego is then victim to foil

As I calmy walk from the beach to the soil

And feel the breathing earth

And begin to recognise what calm is truly worth.

Under the Bodhi Tree.
