Good day people of Commaful.
As mentioned in the previous post that generated some interest, I thought it would be neat to learn how to read and write in Japanese.
As, we all enjoy a haiku and tanka it could be a fun experience.
So firstly, let us do a recap of what we learnt last time: a = あ i = い e = え u = う o = お
The word of the day was: あう Meet
The kanji of the day was: 本 ＝ ほん hon = book
Now onto this week:
ka = か
ki = き
ku = く
ke = け
ko = こ
The word of the day is かく= Write
The Kanji of the day is: 日= Sun or Day Pronunciation: に にち び ひ か ni nichi bi hi ka The focus today is に
Now let's combine what we learnt last time with the kanji we learned today: 日本 = Nihon (にほん) This is the Japanese way of saying Japan.
It has it's roots in the notion of Japan being the land of the rising sun and the two sacred books that are precious to Japanese culture.
If you follow this set of posts hopefully in the coming weeks you will be able to read the basic alphabet and speak a few words.
Thanks for reading and joining me on the journey of Japanese language learning. Be sure to かくthe letters you learned today.
Have a great 日
