Beautifying age

I look in the mirror as I age

Think of the life that has gone by like a book reminiscing on every page

As the wrinkles grow bolder and I age older

I wonder if my appearances grow colder.

As I solder my sense of self

And think of the experience that is my wealth

And thank god for my health

I say, Wrinkles are like the crinkles in your handkerchief

Emotions that manifest as a masterpiece

Every frown and ever smile

Eventually imprinted all the while

Into the thousands of muscles that help you speak

Thousands of muscles that are yet to grow weak

As I look at my hair it is not yet grey

neither are an abundance of wrinkles yet here to stay

Though I wonder across the earth

If the beauty of grey hair is seen for what it's worth

A legacy of humanities ties is to be unearthed

As we all grow old and turn to grey and silver

This commonality binds us it does not pilfer

Grey hair is beautiful because it is shared

For all those that are still there.

In their golden age

Grey hair is beautiful to me it is irrefutable

Though for now I like my mousey hair

And when and If I see a grey shall I despair?

No because it is humanity's flare

That we are one family, and all should care

We may appear different across all races

But when we get to a certain age

There are silver traces

A silver lining of old age

This is what I look to in my old age

So, when you see a silver fox

And wonder what they think of their grey locks

Remind them they are one with their human family in this epoch
